An intuitive watch, sophisticated yet durable...
The Timex Bodylink system is an impressive watch. I only have the heart moniter/Data recorder feature however. I have read many reveiws stating that the GPS Speed/Distance package is somewhat finiky. The Heart rate moniter is very accurate, the chest strap is comfortable and unobtrusive. For the athelete interested in knowing a little more about the run or workout than time the Heart mointer feature is worth it. The Bodylink system has a number of perphirals that make upgrades possible in the future if one becomes so inclined.

The Timex software allows one to aggregate previously unavailable data on the heart rate and displays it in an easy to understand manner. I have recently changed watches from an old Timex Ironman Triatholon which I have had for 5 years (still works great, changed batteries three times!). Bottom Line, Timex makes a great watch with no bugs, they are simple to use, and they are durable as heck. You might see other watches out on the market, I know Nike has a Heart rate mointer watch and there are other companies. I can't speak for other watches since I've been so loyal to the Timex brand and been served so well by their products. The heart rate mointer works by detecting the faint electrical signals given off by the heart. At first I was surprised by the fluctuations of the heart mointer, but then I realized that the heart is a sophisticated organ capable of going from 0 to 60 as it were in less than a second. Im convinced that Timex has a great product which gives a very accurate glimpse into the heart and its function.

The Bodylink watches are not bulky like some Casio G Shock, but I am sure they are every bit as durable if not more so.The strap is comfortable and adjusts easily. The display is much improved, moving the most important elements into the center for easy viewing. Unlike other watches, setting the time or various other functions can be done with two buttons (one for plus, and one for minus) so if you accidentally go over your mark you're not forced to keep pushing the button until you cycle back to the original number you intended. That's a big improvement that seems small but makes the watch oh so ergonomic.

It has a really cool night mode, where any button pushed will lite the indiglo feature. This mode automatically turns itself off after 8 hours! How cool is that? The indiglo feature is also improved from my older watch, it's illumination is toned down a bit but still perfectly readable (I imagine it's battery usage in this function has been greatly improved as a result).

The Lap chronograph has many, many, many laps. The countdown timer is great too! Easy to set with a distinct alarm. Instead of setting the alarm to go off after a certain period with most digital watches, the countdown timer just counts down from a preset period. It's very James Bond-esque.

The Heart rate zones is a great feature that allows one to train for optimal maintenance or improvement. Its simple and easy adjust.

I've only owned two Timex watches but Im convinced thattheir products will faithfully serve the consumer for life.
