Well Made and Look Good!
Even a fashionista can overlook the slightly prosaic Lands End label (or rip it out) and appreciate the reliable features of their mock turtlenecks.They're durable and hold their color, are warm without being stifling, forgive rough laundering (with little or no shrinking), and drape nicely.

For those who already have the fundamental colors (e.g., navy blue, black), Lands End varies the selection from time to time. Several years ago, they introduced the "heather" line. These shirts have added depth and "eye appeal" compared to the basic solid colored mocks.The relatively new chocolate brown is rich and satisfying, and goes well under complimentary hues.(Camel is, for me, a bit too light colored, but is perhaps a good choice for spring). You'll wear and appreciate Lands End cotton mocks long after others have worn out.

Every year, I buy Lands End mock turtlenecks for my grandfather for his birthday and for Christmas. Recently, I asked him what he loves so much about these shirts. He said it's a combination of three things: their durability, comfort, and colorfastness. I love them because they come in many different colors, they're inexpensive, and they make him happy.

Wow!
Turtlenecks have been a staple for me every winter for more years than I can remember. Typically, I'd buy a couple at department stores during year end sales in preparation for the following winter. I've also bought them online from a couple of companies that shall remain nameless. Their products were serviceable, but that was about it. This autumn I went online and visited Lands End to check prices on a number of clothing items I needed. I noticed these turtlenecks, which at the time were being offered at a lower price if the customer bought three or more items. I bought FOUR of the 100% cotton turtlenecks and one of their more expensive pima cotton turtlenecks. I was blown away by the quality of the four lower priced turtlenecks. The double stitching at all seams, including the cuffs is very fine. The cotton fabric holds its shape and resists wrinkles (much better than the pima cotton turtleneck that cost an extra ten dollars!)The collar is a FULL turtleneck that can be rolled over.And the neck is sized perfectly so that while it stands straight it doesn't strangle you!For the price you absolutely cannot do better than these turtlenecks! I'm contemplating buying more, though I'd feel a little bit foolish with so many turtlenecks folded on my shelf. But maybe I'll do it anyway!

The Ultimate Base Layer
I live in North Dakota and the Under Armour Cold Gear is the best shirt to wear as a base layer for winter. It gets to be -60 degrees some days (no kidding) and this one is the best to start out with when you ar bundling up. Actually I like to wear this one and a Columbia Jacket when shoveling snow. ;-) Its also good for when you are fooling around in the snow w/ your teen friends cuz it makes it harder for them to shove snow down your back when you got a nice form fitting mock turtle to keep the snow out.
