Good thick sock for boots
I like the thickness of these for hiking boots, not to thin.They do not cause sweaty feet like some others.They are comfortable and somewhat soft.These stayed up on my legs, others I have had roll down to the top of the boot.

Only issue I had was that the seem at the toe would bind up a few times, which can make for sore toes. Yeah, you could take the shoe/boot off and read just the sock, which is a pain.But in a cave, it is not an ideal situation to do so.I had to go with sore pinky toe, my trip was not much fun.After a few washes the problem has eased. ... The Best Socks On Earth
I find it hard to get terribly enthusiastic about socks, but I will make an exception for the Bridgedale Trekkers. Simply put, these are the best made, most comfortable, and most durable socks I have ever owned. I have recently purchased three new pairs after one of my six year old Bridgedale socks got a tiny hole in it. While six years is always great, it is even better than that might seem to suggest. Around four years ago I had my home recarpeted with a textured carpet that ate socks up. An average pair of Gold Toes would last (literally) about two weeks. (I threw out about three pairs of socks a week until I recently had the house recarpeted again, and the problem has largely abated.) I normally don't wear shoes in the house and the Bridgedales were as exposed as any other socks, yet, after six years, I am just beginning to see the tiniest of holes in one sock.

In addition to being amazingly durable, they are also the most comfortable socks I have ever worn. They are 41 percent wool, 37 percent nylon, 21 percent polypropylene, and one percent Lycra. Although they are designed for rugged outdoor use, they are also perfectly suitable for wearing with casual shoes, or with uniform and work shoes, like I do. Particularly good features are the y-heel and smooth toe seam construction, which makes these socks extremely comfortable for long endurance wear.

I don't know what more I can say to convey how great these socks are, but I can say that if you buy a pair I can't imagine that you won't love them too.

Great Socks From Bridgedale
Bridgedale makes the best socks in the world, and I have had several varieties of their footwear. The "Weekender" is a great sock, suitable for casual, formal, or lighter outdoor use. I like these socks, but all told prefer their "Trekker" style marginally, as it is a little thicker and more durable. One other point is that the sizing is not totally consistent between the "Trekker" and the "Weekender." I am a perfect fit for the large "Trekker" sock, but find the large "Weekender" to be a bit tight. My advice is that you should order your true size in the "Trekker", but if you are between sizes, definitely go up to the larger size with the "Weekender."

These are great socks, and I recommend them to anyone for comfort, quality, and durability: they are definitely worth the money.
