Beautiful dress but wish it came in petite!
This dress is gorgeous...very flattering, feels good on and my husband thought is was very sexy! I'm short so the dress was long but the length worked. The straps were too big which made it extremely low cut. I could have had a Tara Reid moment but luckily safety pins saved the day. I didn't have time to get it altered before my event but plan to have the straps taken up and a little stitch in the front so it is not so open. But is really is a beautiful dress. I especially liked the color, it worked better for me than how red it showed on screen. Do be prepared to iron it as another reviewer said. If I had time I would have taken it to the dry cleaner. If you iron it yourself just give yourself plenty of time and be patient. It took me a few times before it was wearable. I would hang in the bathroom and steam it and then iron, steam and iron...

Too big and not red
This is a pretty dress but it is 1-2 sizes too big and not red.The color is more like burnt-orange.

Pretty Dress
The color is off from the picture, but I Love the dress anyway. It is flattering and lays nice. It does run a little big (about 1 size too big), but still fits well and looks great! No buyer remorse! :o)

Good dress
Ok I bought the dress, it wasnt like the picture but i'm not disappointed.Heres the rundown
1>the color is off. Its rust colored with a brown detail at the waiste.
2)The sizes are a little odd.The dress ran a little big, just one size.Be careful when you order.
3) It is a good dress if you are pear shaped because it has enough room in the hips, but it is not too full of a skirt. its a nice a-line shape that skims the body.
4) the neck is cut very low.If you are unsure of the size or how much cleavage to show, buy a size bigger and just make the shoulder straps shorter. if you do this not as much cleavage will show.
5) the dress isnt lined, you'll need to wear a long slip under neath or when you stand in front of a light you can see your underwear.also it clings to pantyhose if you dont have a slip
6) if you order this, be prepared to iron it upon arrival, there were big deep wrinkles from shipping that made it unwearable before i washed and ironed it.
7)I'm very happy with the dress. i got many compliments on it.its good for all skin tones.its a very elegant length.its good for people with curvy figures.This is one dress you can order and take the risk and it will probably fit good enough that you'll be satisfied. I have ordered dresses online in the past and had them not fit right but this one is very accomadating. I particularly like it cause you can dress it up or down.and the color works for all seasons.
8)I bought it when it was on sale and it was a great bargain.

The colors aren't the same!
When I saw the online picture of the dress, what I liked most was the way the colors fade from yellow to orange to pink, just like a sunset. However, the dress I was shipped was almost all a rather ugly pink, with a hint of rather ugly orange at the top. The sequins also don't do much for it unless you're actually moving in direct sunlight; indoors, they look like what they are: little pieces of clear, reflective plastic. It's not hideous, but it's definitely not worth the $60 plus shipping, not to mention the postange for returning it.

I might, however, try ordering another dress from Newport News. I'm 5' 9" and very slim, and I wear a size 8, and the dress fit very well and did quite a bit for my figure. As for the colors, maybe I just got a badly dyed dress. Go ahead and try ordering it if you like how it looks, and may you have better luck than I did!

It took a long time for Newport News to ship this dress. I'm not sure if that's normal for the company or not, but it's something to keep in mind - if you need a dress right away, then this probably isn't the best company to which you can turn. ... Read more
