great compressable warmth
This is a very versatile and lightweight jacket. I often use it to warm up a rainshell or soft shell jacket, and love its compressability for travel. The warmth to weigth ratio is outstanding. The snaps, neck, and cuffs are well done, but the jacket is better as an inner liner than outerwear. They have a new version with a zipper and an elasticized waistband that might be better for that. This jacket's is like a flannel shirt and not elasticized.

I have used it for hiking and backpacking, travel and around town. I also wear mine around the house, too, since it is so comfortable.

MontBell gear is well made and nicely thought out, but it is more expensive here in the States than it is in Japan (one of the exceptions that proves the rule). I bought this jacket for about $70 in Japan. Given how much I like it, if I lost mine and wasn't going to be in Tokyo for a while I would pick another up- even at $100.
