KERUSSO: AN OUTSTANDING EXAMPLE OF WHAT A COMPANY SHOULD BE
Let me set up what I have to say here by actually reviewing the product first:

These Live For Him wristbands are a knock-off of the Lance Armstrong Live Strong bracelets. They may be knock-off's, but they're knock-off's with a good cause--raising money for Compassion International's tsunami relief work (I could write another whole piece about how wonderful I think Compasssion is).

The bracelets are red, symbolizing the sacrificial blood of Jesus that has reconciled God and the world by paying for the debt that sinful man could never settle on their own: sin. All those who accept the gift of God through his Son need never live in dakness again. That is what LIVE FOR HIM is all about--our freedom in Christ to be who we were made to be.

I liked these bracelets when I saw them. At the same time I had been looking for a way to build group identity within my small group of 1st graders at Church. I ordered two 10 packs of these bracelets with the idea that I would give them to my group so they could do three things:

1. Remember the sacrifice of Christ.
2. Remember that even when they don't feel special (the week's lesson in Large Group was about how special kids are to Jesus--I was going to tie this back in) that they are very special to Jesus.
3. Remember that since we are special to Jesus that we should be special to each other. Therefore we should care for and pray for each other throughout the week. I was goig to tell them that whenever they looked at their bracelet, they should say a quick prayer for their fellow small group members.

I bought two 10 packs because I have 11 kids in my small group, and I wanted a bracelet for myself.

To my chagrin, only one 10 pack arrived. The week of the Jesus Loves Children Lesson came and went. I could not find extra bracelets in stores anywhere. I waited another week. No bracelets.

Then yesterday I emailed Kerusso. I got a very prompt reply from a very nice and helpful person named Rusty. Rusty apologized and told me that they were out of stock at the time but that another worker named Michelle would ship them out as soon as they got more.

Not even a half-hour later, I recieved an email from Michelle. She told me she had found two 10 packs and would ship them out immediately.

I will now have enough to give bracelets to the other small group shepherds and room-helpers in K-1 (I am their service hour coach and have an idea for a team-building exercise based on the bracelets!)

Both Rusty and Michelle exemplify customer service. More than that, they were a pleasure to deal with. Kerusso is a quality company with quality people. Thank you for your help. It is more than service, it is helping me to build the kingdom in my own little sphere of influence. Thanks for being a part of that.
